Pressland The back office

New, fall 2026 · For Fraser Valley contractors, shops and food processors

Less paperwork. More work.

Tender bids, safety programs, grant applications, food safety plans and quotes: the writing that wins work, keeps you certified and gets money back.

New this fall

These services are new this fall, so there are no clients to show yet. That's why each one starts with a free first step: you judge the work before you pay for anything.

No. 1Tenders

Every public bid that fits your shop, in one email a week.

For contractors, fabricators and construction managers

Public work in B.C. is spread across BC Bid, CanadaBuys, Metro Vancouver and a long list of municipal portals, each with its own login and alerts.

The bids that fit your shop are usually in there. Finding them takes hours nobody on your team has, so they close unseen and the work goes to whoever had the time to look.

What's included
  • Watch the portals every week, including any you already use
  • Send one email with the bids that fit your trades, size and area, each with scope, closing date and site visits
  • Write first drafts of the responses you want to chase, for you to review, price and sign
Free
Two weekly roundups, built for your shop
Then
A monthly retainer, quoted up front

No. 2COR safety

Get COR certified without stopping work.

For contractors, fab shops, trades and food processors

COR-certified employers get back up to 10% of their WorkSafeBC premiums every year. Firms with fewer than 20 employees can often certify for free through their industry's safety association.

The catch is the paperwork that free route still leaves for the owner. Templates have to be adapted to your shop, procedures written and records kept, which is why so many small shops never finish.

You still take the association's training, and your crew still does the safety work. Pressland handles the writing and the records.

What's included
  • Adapt your association's program templates to how your shop actually works
  • Write hazard assessments and safe work procedures for your shop and sites
  • Set up inspection, incident and toolbox-talk records that are easy to keep up
  • Get your records ready for audit day
Free
A short write-up: how it would work for you, and what it costs
Then
A flat fee

No. 3Grants & tax credits

Claim what you've earned, for a flat fee.

For manufacturers and agritech

Shops that set up new equipment, develop new processes or open new export markets often have money they haven't claimed, through programs like SR&ED, CanExport and the BC Agritech Grant.

Consultants often take 15–25% of the claim. Pressland charges a flat fee, agreed before any work starts, so a bigger claim doesn't cost you more.

What's included
  • Find the programs you likely qualify for, with rough dollar ranges
  • Gather what the application needs without eating your week
  • Write the application for you to review and submit
Free
A one-page funding summary for your business
Then
A flat fee, not a percentage of your claim

No. 4Food safety

Food safety plans and records you can keep up with.

For meat, dairy and cheese processors

Smoking, curing and fermenting are special processes in B.C. They need a health-authority-approved HACCP plan, plus records that stay current.

Most processors already have a plan. Keeping it up to date, along with the daily logs, is the part that slips when the shop is busy.

What's included
  • Write or update HACCP plans for smoking, curing and fermenting
  • Sanitation plans and written procedures
  • Daily logs simple enough that your team actually keeps them
Free
A short outline of what you need, plus the cost
Then
A flat fee for the build, optional upkeep

No. 5Estimates & reports

Site notes in the morning. A finished quote by the evening.

For roofers, excavators and other trades

The fastest professional quote usually wins the job. But estimating happens at night, after a full day on site, and inspection reports pile up behind it.

Send your notes and photos, however rough, and get back a finished report and quote, ready for you to check and send.

What's included
  • Take your site notes, measurements and photos as they are
  • Turn them into a professional report and quote, usually the same day
  • In your branding, ready for you to check, price and send
Free
One finished report and quote from a recent job, client details removed
Then
Per job or monthly

It starts free, and it's useful either way.

Questions

Asked & answered.

Are these new services?

Yes, as of fall 2026. That's why every one starts with a free first step: you can judge the work before paying for anything.

Who signs and submits?

You do. Pressland finds, prepares and drafts. You review, decide, sign and submit. Nothing goes out under your name without you.

Do you use AI?

Yes, for searching and first drafts. It's a big part of why this work costs less than it used to. Every document is checked and finished by hand before you see it.

What does it cost?

It depends on the job, so it's quoted up front after the free first step. One-time builds like a COR program or a grant application are a flat fee. Ongoing work like tender monitoring is monthly.

Is my information kept private?

Yes. What you share is used only for your work and isn't passed to anyone else.

Where do you work?

Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, Langley and the rest of the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland. Most of the work is done remotely, and meeting in person is no problem.

What's on your desk?

Pressland is based in Abbotsford and run by Jordan Walker. Send a note about what you need help with, and it starts with the free first step.
